Born into an impressive artistic family in the Utopia region of the Central Desert, Ruby has learned her craft from some of the best. As the daughter of Mary Kemarre Morton and Billy Stockman Morton, art has always been in her blood as her vast array of work clearly demonstrates. Her family includes her four talented sisters, Lucky, Sarah, Audrey and Hazel – all internationally accomplished artists. Raised by a generation of indigenous artists of the 1970s, when Western craft practices and traditional Indigenous imagery were combined for the first time, Ruby Morton inherited the creative artistic gene. Ruby creates quality stunning paintings that are appreciated by art collectors. Ruby work has the physical presence of much contemporary work of art. She paints with the fascinating accuracy of intricate details and subtle shades of colour, her images seem to move with the viewer’s eyes and floats in air, giving an impression of the multi-dimensional appearance. Ruby’s uncanny sense of overall design and colour selection are distinguishing traits of her paintings. Ruby’s works are rapidly gaining well-deserved attention from astute collectors worldwide.
